Solomon Schechter Day School of Nassau County and High School of Long Island (SSDS) provide students
with a world class secular education, lifelong foundation in Jewish
tradition, and extra-curricular programs that enrich its students' lives
beyond measure.
The Schools' dual curriculum provides students with critical thinking
skills, and deep feelings for the rich beauty of their Jewish heritage.
By studying Torah, experiencing the joy of our Holidays and practicing
acts of Tikkun Olam, the students integrate Judaism into the very core
of their being, and carry our mesorah (tradition) forward to future
generations.
Over 100 Temple Beth Sholom (TBS) children and teenagers, from
kindergarten through 12th grade, currently attend SSDS, where they
receive a first class education. When Solomon Schechter Day School was
first founded over twenty-five years ago, it was housed at TBS, and SSDS
has now grown to become one of the preeminent Jewish day schools on Long
Island. Members and clergy of TBS are intimately involved with the
operations and education at SSDS, and the two institutions maintain a
close and mutually beneficial relationship in support of Jewish
education for the Long Island Jewish community.
