2009-2010 Sisterhood Mission Statement

[Photo] Sisterhood is dedicated to enrich the lives of all women in our synagogue. We reach out to all women, of all ages. We reach out to those who work outside of the home and those who work at home. We reach out to moms, aunts, sisters, daughters and grandmas. Sisterhood unites our women in friendship. We reinforce our bonds with each other by studying in our education courses and by advocating for Israel and a more peaceful world. We attend programs that link us to our matriarchs and that feed our soul. We open our hearts to those in need in our synagogue, in our community and in the world by performing mitzvot. We deliver Shabbat dinners to those in mourning and prayers to those in need. We share laughter as we attend theater shows and play card games. We build the bond of sisterhood that makes us strong and makes us realize we are never alone. We are a major part of the Temple Beth Sholom community. We are proud to financially help our synagogue and to make the dream of our new Early Childhood Center come true. We are proud to be a member of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, our umbrella organization which supports the Jewish Theological Seminary. We wear our Torah Fund pins with pride because they show our support for the students at the Seminary who are our future leaders. Please join us for one of our programs or all of our programs. We welcome you with open arms.

Affectionately,
Molly Chernofsky
Sisterhood President
